and manager advice
Deciding on the right investment manager is a crucial job for trustees.
Making sure that your investments are performing as you expect them to is just as important. And with so many decisions to make, our clients benefit from our independent and tailored approach to advising them. We don’t sell products, and we’re not linked to asset managers, so we don’t have a stake in any particular solutions – our clients have individual requirements, so we consider their goals and needs and tailor our services accordingly.
How we can help
We do things differently. Our manager research programme is fully integrated into our advisory team at all levels, which means that the people advising you are the same people who research and assess the managers available to you. This means that information and ideas flow both ways. You will benefit from the newest and most relevant investment ideas out there, and we communicate the needs and experiences of our clients back to the investment managers to develop new products for you to access.
We look beyond our own backyard when it comes to our research. As the UK and European partner in the Global Investment Research Alliance we have access to research on investment managers and markets across the world.
Responsible investment principles are fully integrated into our manager research process, allowing us to tailor our recommendations according to your own responsible investment goals and priorities. We are supporters of the initiative by the AMNT and UKSIF which acknowledges the importance of environmental, social and governance issues to pension scheme investments.
We are independent of the conflicts that come with running an advisory business alongside a fund management business, as we don’t provide fiduciary management services. However, if fiduciary management is the right option for your scheme, we will offer unbiased and unconflicted advice to help you select and monitor your fiduciary manager, to make sure it delivers everything you need it to.
We use our unique LCP SpotLight tool to provide our clients with up-to-date performance on their investments, not just at asset class level, but also at manager level. Our clients have told us how useful it is to see up to date figures (rather than by calendar quarters) and how much more engaging it is discussing performance using LCPSpotLight.
How it works: our manager research process in practice
We put ourselves in our clients' shoes so our approach to manager research looks at the things that matter most to you. Using consistent criteria, we assess each manager, for each asset class, to provide you with a suitable selection of investment managers who are aligned to your needs and who we believe will do an excellent job for you.
