Climate guidance
for trustees published

Our viewpoint

Today an industry working group has published draft guidance, along with a quick start guide, to help trustees evaluate the ways in which climate-related risks and opportunities may affect their schemes.

This significant development, supported by Guy Opperman MP, the Minister for Pensions and Financial Inclusion, is linked to the amendments made to the Pension Schemes Bill last month, as a result of which certain occupational pension schemes will be required to address climate change risks and opportunities and to publish climate-related information.

In this News Alert we summarise and comment on the contents of the working group’s guidance, which is likely to be issued in final form this autumn.
