Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of a Great Repeal Bill we now know that all EU legislation in force on the date the UK formally leaves the EU will be enshrined in UK law, to be reviewed, amended and repealed at leisure. The Great Repeal Bill will also repeal the European Communities Act 1972, which in turn abolishes the supremacy of the European Court of Justice.
