I am a leading pensions industry expert, assisting clients in addressing the opportunities and pitfalls presented by the ever-changing pensions tax regime.  Areas I advise on include design and delivery of executive packages, and establishing controls to minimise the risk of tax surcharges and penalties. Experience developed over many years as a scheme actuary and partner at LCP giving general pensions advice gives me a very good base from which to put this very technical area into a practical context for pension trustees, employers and members, as well as in discussions with HM Treasury and HM Revenue & Customs.

External appointments

I am Chair of the Pensions Taxation Committee of the Association of Consulting Actuaries (ACA) - so continuously involved in the ACA’s responses to Government departments’ consultations on changes; as well as working with the industry and HMRC, to bring out the interaction of the existing complex tax framework (not least the Lifetime Allowance and Annual Allowance) with real life pension scheme structures.
