My name is Catherine and I’m a qualified actuary with over 5 years’ experience.
I help both Trustee and Corporate clients manage their pension risks. In particular, I work a lot in insurance de-risking (ie pension buy-ins and buy-outs). One of my roles is to help ensure a buy-in or buy-out transaction is completed smoothly, on time and within budget.
Clients appreciate that I have the ability to ‘just get things done’ and I provide complex advice in a clear, simple-talking and interesting way. I’m also part of the panel that sets LCP’s internal buy-out pricing model, and as a result I have sight of all completed transactions that LCP advises on. This ensures that I keep clients updated as to when attractive pricing opportunities are available.
I am a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and enjoy attending seminars on a variety of subject matters. In my spare time I am a treasurer and listening volunteer for my local Samaritans branch – it’s extremely rewarding being there for someone when it really matters.

The buy-in process we have recently concluded required patience and tact to accommodate all the concerns and views of the various trustees. All steps in the process were explained simply and additional advice/explanation given when asked for...often repeated but without any judgement.
