Media centre

LCP’s Fran Bailey has been elected the new vice chair of the Employer Covenant Practitioners Association (ECPA.) She is a partner at LCP, having joined the firm in 2017 and is one of the leaders of the firm’s award winning and fast growing Covenant team.

Fran will work closely with the new chair Guy Mander, to continue promoting the role of covenant practitioners in the market and contribute to the debate on industry hot topics, particularly on upcoming proposed regulatory changes including the new DB Funding Code.

Fran specialises in advising trustee and sponsor clients on a full range of covenant advice, including corporate activity, restructuring and distressed situations. Alongside this, Fran leads LCP’s insurer financial risk review offering and the development of how covenant fits into LCP’s integrated risk advice. This allows her to support her clients in understanding their covenant risks in the context of their overall pension strategy, and navigate covenant matters during all stages of their scheme's journey plan. She is a chartered accountant, and her other appointments include membership if the steering committee of O:Pen, the pensions sector’s LGBTQ+ network.

Speaking on her appointment, Fran Bailey, said: “It is an honour to be appointed vice chair of the ECPA, to continue the excellent work of my predecessors. I am looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the role and working closely with Guy and my industry peers, in particular when it comes to helping covenant advisers navigate the changes that will come about as a result of TPR’s second consultation on the new DB funding code.”
