LCP expands
manager research capability with Head of Investment Research appointment

LCP Investment Consulting practice has, this month (5 October), appointed Matt Gibson, who is a new Senior Consultant at the firm, as Head of Investment Research. In this newly created role, Matt will be responsible for the manager research and manager monitoring services provided to clients. He will also research innovative asset-class and portfolio construction ideas to enhance clients’ portfolios.

Matt has almost 20 years’ investment experience, both as an investment manager for multi-manager portfolios and at an institutional investment consultancy. He has previously worked at Aon Hewitt and GAM asset managers where he managed fund-of-funds portfolios for institutional and retail investors.

On joining the firm, Matt said: “I am delighted to have joined LCP. I look forward to working with a talented team to deliver clear advice to our clients. Manager research is increasingly important to pension fund trustees as they seek to diversify into new asset classes and strategies. A thorough evaluation of potential managers is essential. Additionally, in an era when traditional asset classes offer lower returns, trustees are asking for a more thorough monitoring of existing managers.”

Mark Nicoll, LCP investment partner, said: “We are committed to delivering innovative and insightful research to our clients, and Matt’s experience will help us continue to develop our research and take it to a new level. He will also play a role in adding value to our popular thought-leadership publication, the Investment Management Fee survey.
