Projects – Technology

There are two ways of constructing a software design; one way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult.

Selecting software can be a challenge for many pension and benefit managers. It is easy to see whether screens look good and meet your immediate needs; it is far harder to assess whether the software is robust and will be capable of adapting as your needs evolve over several years. Then there are the problems of promised upgrades which never appear, the risk of significant overruns and contract terms seemingly biased in favour of the software providers. On top of all of that there is the question of any poor quality data you may have inherited.

As our consultants are both technology and pensions professionals we often act as the bridge between clients and software developers and can explain technology to you without using jargon. Through a combination of experience in system implementation and our project methodologies, LCP can guide you through the technology maze.
