Specialist Training

Some individuals have special responsibilities on their trustee board where a greater depth of knowledge, skill and understanding is required. We provide specialist training courses to cover, for example, trustees with special investment responsibilities or responsibility for risk management. Identifying your requirements in this area will normally follow from face-to-face discussions with you or from your training needs analysis.

Assessment of the strength of the employer’s covenant is a new area for many trustees, and we provide comprehensive training on the key aspects to consider. Delivered by LCP’s Credit Team, trustees will gain a greater understanding of the employer covenant and know how to formulate plans to recover any deficits.

The Pensions Regulator has highlighted the need for trustees to have appropriate risk management and internal control procedures. This has particular implications for scheme administration but will affect many other areas of scheme management and funding. Trustees should agree a risk management strategy, engage the corporate sponsor and maintain an ongoing risk register for monitoring purposes. LCP can provide specialist training to trustees to help them to comply with the new requirements.
