Roger Cobley -- Past President, The Pensions Management Institute
Roger Cobley is the Chairman of Stamford Associates Limited, the international investment
consulting firm, Chairman of the Trustee Board of three pension funds and a member of the
investment sub-committee of another major fund. He is Chairman of the Independent Pension Trustee
Group, and has currently been appointed to the Accounting Standards Board Pensions Advisory
Panel to review the operation of the accounting standard for pensions.
He was first elected to the Council of PMI in 2000, became Honorary Treasurer in 2001, and was
elected President in 2003. His two year term of office ended in July 2005. He has served on a
number of PMI committees, and was previously Chairman of the PMI Eastern Region Group. He has
served on the international committee of the National Association of Pension Funds, and was a
TPAS adviser.
As well as being a Fellow of the PMI, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries, for whom he serves as Chairman of the Trustees of its Charitable Trust Fund. Roger spent his entire working career in pensions including periods as a benefit consultant and as international benefits director at two blue chip companies. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars, and contributes articles to technical pensions journals.

Chairman -- Bob Scott
Bob is author of LCP's Accounting for Pensions annual survey, and has been a partner of LCP since
1988. Bob's primary role is in advising his portfolio of UK pension clients. He is a regular
commentator on UK pensions issues in the media.
Clive Wellsteed
Clive sits on LCP’s buy-out advisory group and has spoken on the evolution of the buy-out market at a number of major conferences. He has a regular portfolio of both trustee and corporate clients, ranging from small schemes through to several household names. His specialist knowledge of the buy-out market fits in with wider project work for clients on possible de-risking options to manage their scheme towards eventual buy-out.
Ken Willis
Ken leads LCP’s specialist practice that focuses on corporate sponsor investment issues. He is responsible for a range of clients, helping them set and implement investment strategy. With over 16 years’ industry experience, Ken’s understanding of pension scheme funding, the interaction with investment policy interaction and how these fit into scheme sponsor financing discussions, ensures that he is well placed to assist sponsors in gaining greater understanding and control over their pension scheme investment arrangements.
Gavin Orpin
Gavin leads LCP’s specialist practice that focuses on Trustee investment issues. With over 13 years’ industry experience, Gavin has a strong track record in providing investment advice to pension schemes, as well as experience in providing risk management solutions for pension schemes utilising interest rate swaps and equity derivatives.
Richard Murphy
Richard is deputy head of LCP’s specialist Trustee Consulting practice that provides trustees with the advice, knowledge and understanding they need to make key financial decisions. He is a Scheme Actuary with over 16 years’ experience and advises a range of corporate and trustee clients on all aspects of their pension arrangements. He is a regular conference speaker and is also a member the LCP’s Pensions Professional Committee, setting the standards for LCP’s pensions advice.
Mark Jackson
Mark has over 15 years’ industry experience and leads several client teams in the delivery of high quality pensions advice to a range of schemes, many of which are sponsored by well-known companies. He also undertakes a variety of specialist projects advising on pension issues during corporate mergers and acquisitions. He is the author of LCP’s Survey of Pension Benefits for Directors and advises a number of remuneration committees on pension arrangements for directors.
Aaron Punwani
Aaron leads LCP’s specialist Trustee Consulting practice. With over 11 years’ industry experience, Aaron has particular expertise in advising on the funding implications of following different and dynamic investment strategies, as well as factoring employer covenant issues into scheme funding.
