Bob joined LCP in 1982, qualified as an actuary in 1985 and became a partner in 1988. He became LCP's senior partner in 2011. Bob is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries; a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia; and a member of the Association of Consulting Actuaries.
Bob is based in the London office and is the appointed actuary to 11 UK pension schemes. He also advises a number of employers on their UK pension arrangements. Bob has wide experience of advising his clients on a range of issues, including: funding strategy and negotiations; benefit design; scheme mergers; liability management exercises; and pensions aspects of corporate transactions.
Bob is the author of "Accounting for Pensions", which has been published annually since 1994 and which is accepted as the authoritative survey of the FTSE 100 companies' pension disclosures. Bob is also one of the firm's spokesmen on pensions issues and is regularly quoted in the press and on radio / TV and has chaired LCP's annual pensions conference for a number of years.
Bob has two daughters and a son. His main other interests outside work are golf, squash and cricket. Although he is no longer an active member of his village cricket team, he remains true to his roots and is an enthusiastic follower of the Australian Test side.
