UK (Winchester)
Alasdair is a qualified actuary with more than 14 years’ experience in pension and benefit consultancy. He became a partner at LCP in 2004.
Alasdair's clients are based across the UK. He advises on pension and benefit arrangements throughout the world, including Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Alasdair's particular speciality is finding practical solutions to complex problems. Examples of recent projects include:
- Resolving data and benefit entitlement issues dating back more than 20 years as part of the take on of a new client;
- IAS19 accounting consolidations involving more than 100 benefit arrangements and 20 countries;
- Converting complex benefits into a simple structure, reducing on-going administration costs;
- Advising corporates on benefit provision for high earners in the light of the April 2011 tax changes; and
- Helping clients mitigate the impact of the PPF Levy.
Away from the office Alasdair's two young sons keep him and his wife busy. The boys have really enjoyed planting broad beans and potatoes this spring, but resisting the temptation to dig them up "to see how they are doing" is proving hard.
