I am interested in applying for your actuarial graduate programme but I am not studying for a degree in Mathematics. Will you consider my application?

We will consider applications from candidates studying a wide range of disciplines providing you have gained a grade A at A-Level Mathematics (or equivalent).

I graduated from university last year and took a gap year, will you consider my application for the graduate programme this year?

Yes, we are happy to consider applications from graduates who have taken a gap year.

When do you start recruiting for your graduate programme?

We review applications from the start of September for the graduate programme commencing the following September. We will start reviewing applications in September 2011 for our September 2012 graduate intake.

When is the deadline for applications for the 2012 graduate programme?

The deadline for our September 2012 graduate intake was Friday 18 November 2011. However we are still accepting applications for our investment department in our Winchester office. The deadline for these applications is 21 December 2011.

How will you keep me informed on the progress of my application?

We will write to you initially to confirm that we have received your application. We will then write to you to confirm whether your application has been successful. If you have been successful at the application stage, we will contact you to invite you to attend an assessment day.

When will your assessment days take place if my application is successful?

We will hold assessment days in November and December 2011 for our 2012 graduate programme.

Will you provide me with feedback on my performance at the assessment day?

Yes, we will be happy to provide you with feedback on request.

When does your graduate programme start?

Generally, our graduate programme commences in September.

Where can I find more information about actuarial exams and whether I am eligible for exemptions?

Further details can be found on the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries website: www.actuaries.org.uk. If you join us as a graduate we will provide full details about studying for the actuarial exams including our study leave package and financial support for study materials and tuition. You will also be allocated a study mentor to help support you through your studying and the process of applying for exemptions.
